Internet Marketing - "The New Yellow Pages"

A pay per click program on Google will deliver a steady stream of new business leads and absolutely will help your firm increase gross revenues in a very short period of time. Google is far and away the most preferred search engine among Internet users. The second most popular search engine is Yahoo, number three is MSN and number four is Ask. A well designed and professionally managed Pay Per Click program on any of these search engines will produce results, however, Google will produce significantly more results in a much shorter time frame. We call Internet Marketing on Google, Yahoo, MSN and ASK "The New Yellow Pages".

Traditional yellow pages for years served as the advertising mainstay for many small to medium sized businesses that needed a reliable means of reaching local area customers within the cities they serve. For years yellow pages produced lead after lead and sale after sale for these companies. The incredibly rapid growth of the Internet, coupled with significant increases in DSL, Broadband and Cable penetration rates into households and businesses within American cities has totally changed the landscape. The Internet is quickly diminishing the value of traditional print yellow pages.

Take a look at the current chaotic state of the yellow pages industry if you don't believe me. Verizon's yellow page arm (Idearc) filed for bankruptcy. Other long time yellow page firms are on the verge of declaring bankruptcy. BellSouth Advertising & Publishing, whom I worked for, recently changed their name to AT&T Advertising Solutions and began a rapid downsizing of their print yellow pages work force. While it is sad to see these old advertising giants struggle, many of their past clients don't share that sentiment. In fact the opposite holds true. Many have expressed frustration and even anger of the many years they were forced to pay for high priced yellow page ads, only to find out that next year the price was set to increase once again. The truth is advertising, like life, is an ever evolving adventure. Just as life weeds out species that cannot evolve, the advertising industry will weed out traditional print newspapers and yellow pages because technology has past them by.
